Bloomers Web believes in management. If the world’s organizations and institutions remained run more effectively, if our leaders made better decisions, and if people worked more productively, we believe that all of us, employees, customers, bosses, and our families.

The people our businesses affect would remain improved. We try to arm our readers with thoughts that help them become more intelligent, creative, and courageous. We recruit primary management theory and practice experts to share their insights and counsel.

Bloomers Web covers many topics: strategy, leadership, organizational change, diversity and inclusion, innovation, decision-making, marketing, career transitions, work-life balance, and managing teams. We publish articles of many lengths, graphics, videos, podcasts, and fair about any other media that might help us share an idea successfully.

Five Qualities we look for when Evaluating whatever to Publish:

Expertise: You do not have to be well-known to be a contributor, but you must know much about the subject you’re writing about.

Evidence: Knowing your subject profoundly is insufficient — you must verify it to the reader. Referring to subsidiary research is one good way to do this; telling relevant examples is another. If you have interesting data, let us know.

Originality: New ideas in management are rare and precious. And one of the main reasons readers turn to BW. We’ll seek a unique argument or insight if you’re writing about a well-worn topic. We’ll also examine how well it builds on what we’ve already published and whether it might specifically inform or delight the BW audience.

Usefulness: BW readers come to us not only to stay on top of new developments in management thinking but also to change how they and their organizations do things. Explaining your thinking, so the reader understands how to apply it in an actual situation will make it more powerful.

Persuasive writing and a pleasure to read: BW readers are intelligent, skeptical, and busy. They will move on to something else if you don’t capture their interest.

We make every effort to publish content consistent with our organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion on all levels. That is, we look for pieces representing our various audiences. We will prioritize content that depicts a diverse range of examples and points of view. We will ensure our content is free of stereotypes, bias, and language that “others” or diminishes non-dominant groups.

General notes on the process

We receive far more submissions than we can publish, and we frequently have to turn down good proposals due to space and time constraints or because they are too similar to other pieces we’ve published. We may take several weeks to review an unsolicited proposal due to the volume of submissions we receive. If we rejected something you submitted, please try again with a different idea. If our editors have said no more than once, it could mean your work isn’t a decent fit for our audience.

Our editorial procedure is more thorough than many other publishers, and you may remain asked to do multiple revisions. Contributors usually tell us that they appreciate the more care and attention their work receives.

We retain final decision rights over headlines. Our editors have spent years learning which headlines give BW pieces the best chance of being read, found online, and shared on social media and in offices worldwide. If we rewrite your title, we believe the revised version will help your idea reach its intended audience.

Harvard Business Write For UsOur articles strive for authenticity, and your work should be unique. We do not publish pieces that have previously appeared elsewhere, do not adequately credit the ideas they present, appear promotional, or do not include rigorous citations. We require our authors to disclose any financial ties to companies mentioned in the proposed article. Before we publish your final piece, we will ask you to sign a copyright form, but authors retain ownership of the underlying ideas in their reports.

We evaluate ideas before determining where and how to publish them. We will consider submissions with only a short pitch and can help determine whether the concept should become a magazine feature, digital article, podcast, graphic, video, or another format. There are some differences between the submission processes for BW.

Process notes for Bloomersweb.

BW covers timely and timeless management topics, from new research to practical advice to essays on the modern workplace or current events. It’s helpful if you refer us to a short pitch first so we can give you early feedback, but we need to see a complete draft before officially accepting a piece — even if we’ve asked you to write it and even if you’ve written it for us before.

Procedure notes for the magazine

The magazine’s long-form feature evaluation process is more formal. It is acceptable to send an editor a pitch for a magazine feature. If the idea is promising, you will remain asked to submit a formal proposal and a narrative outline. The proposal should answer the following questions, but it does not have to be a Q&A.

What is the main point of the article you want to write?

What makes your idea unique, valuable, novel, or counterintuitive?

Why should managers be aware of it? How can your concept be used today?

What previous work (yours or others) does this idea build on?

What academic, personal, or professional experience will you bring?

Exactly, What is the source of your power?

The narrative outline should be no extra than 1000 words and lay out the proposed article’s structure. We need to understand how the logic of your argument will flow, and we also want to understand what evidence you’ll provide for your opinion. Please illustrate your ideas with real-world examples or provide one extended, detailed model.

Thanks for considering working with us.
